Life sucks

...been a real bummer lately. First I was sick and couldn't go up....Then yesterday we had an epic powder day, that I missed. I got into town late cuz I got stuck cuz of snow and then when I tried to drive in my car broke down. Life sucks

...

Just throwing this out there...I might go up on Rabbit Ears pass this weekend and bring some ski gear. Keep a heads up for some pics

Still waiting...

Well... I'm still waiting...

We're starting to have snow, but it won't stick for very long. That's fine with me though, no snow now normally means a LOT of snow later. Just ask everyone from Steamboat Springs. Last year we had almost no snow until Dec. Then we got over 500 inches of fresh snow and set a record for the amount of snow we've hever had. Basically, it wouldn't snow forever but when it started it never stopped. It became no big deal that it was snowing because we never got to see it stop snowing. Everyday you could find powder. So anyways i'm still waiting on snow but that's not the real issue...

What I am waiting on is the mountain to open. Steamboat Springs leases Mount Werner from the National Forest. That means it always opens and closes on predesignated days. This does suck at the end of the year when we have tons of snow left but can't ski it. So i'm waiting for the mountain to open...

ok thats just a little joke. So i'm gonna bring up my personal view of skiing and snowboarding. I know there's a little hostility between the two but I just wanted to say thats a joke. I ski and love it but I am alone in my town for friends that ski so I chill with the snowboarders. its way cool because snowboarders are always relaxed and we just go and chill. We don't go as fast as possible and spend our days all hyped up. We take our days slow, enjoy every turn, and go BIG. I know how to ski and ride (although I'm not nearly as good on a board). I just choose to ski because I prefer it. I just enjoy the snowboard way of life.

So there's no porblem with me and snowboarders. Just thought I would throw that out there...

FreeRidE SkiBloG~~First Post

Hey all. Whats up?
This is my first post to my FreeRideSkiBlog. This will be a blog dedicated entirely to the magic that happens when fresh snow meets fat skis. So first a little about me...

• I'm 18
• I'm located near Steamboat Springs, CO so my mountain is Mt. Werner in Ski Town USA.
• I ride on a pair of Rossignol Scratch Pro BC's. They are perfect for stomping tricks in the back country.
• My boots of choice are Atomic Rollas.

Beyond that there isn't much to say right now. We have about a month until the mountain opens so I won't be posting to much to begin with. I will try to include some stuff from last year though, a record year, and some other stuff to fill the time. Once the mountain opens though I'll try and post after every time I go up and tell everyone how it was stompin the POW!
